BIOS V4.6.5.4 Version: R1.5.0.SR.5 Date:12/2014 PMPFS440-Vig440J Workstation Motherboard Model: -D3128-B2x (Vig440J) DOS-based BIOS Update ----------------------------------------- 1. Save BIOS update zipped file to a temporary directory. 2. Extract the necessary files. 3. Copy the contents of the file to a bootable floppy disk, USB device or CD-ROM. 4. Boot the target PC with the device connected or inserted. 5. Select F11 during POST to display the Boot Menu and select your bootable device. 6. Type 'DosFlash.BAT' to launch the BIOS update process. 7. The system will reboot once complete. 8. Enter the BIOS Setup (Press 'Delete' key during POST) and select Load Optimized defaults. Then select F4 to save and exit. WIndows based BIOS Update Instructions: ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Save BIOS update zipped file to a temporary directory. 2. Extract the necessary files. 3. Run exe-file from MS Windows and follow the instruction. IMPORTANT!!!!! During the update process DO NOT shut down the PC or interrupt the process, this could cause damage to the motherboard. Recovery Update Procedure ------------------------------------------- 1. Copy the BIOS file to a bootable USB flash device. 2. Place the thumb drive in a USB port of the target system. 3. Shut down the system and unplug AC power. 4. Open the chassis and position the BIOS Configuration jumper to BIOS recovery mode (Refer to Motherboard manual, page 94, figure 33). 5. Power the system on. 6. Wait 2-5 minutes for the update to complete. 7. After the Recovery process has finished, switch off the system and disconnect it from the mains supply 8. Remove the USB stick 9. For all jumpers which were changed, return them to their original positions 10. Connect the system to the mains supply again and switch it on 11. The system will now boot up with the new version of BIOS 12. Check the settings in the BIOS Setup. If necessary, configure the settings once again BIOS Rev. 1.5.0.SR.5: • Fixed: "Boot Option Filter" could not be changed through EditCMOS Known problems and restrictions: • There are incompatibilities between some NV Kepler based graphics cards and SandyBridge CPUs, which can lead to the graphics card not found at boot. If no graphics card BIOS update is available that limits the speed to Gen2, please either limit the PCIe speed of the graphics card slot to Gen2 in the BIOS Setup, or use Ivy Bridge CPUs. • After starting BIOS Recovery Flash the update process stays approximately 70 seconds with 0% before continuing. Please note that the system must NOT be switched off during Recovery Flash! • BIOS Setup item "Power Failure Recovery: Disabled" not working as expected with "Low Power Soft Off: Enabled" • When clearing passwords (Administrator/User Password), passwords are not cleared when afterwards "Optimized Defaults" are loaded
